- Turn off the switch and unplug or open the breaker.
- Press the red reset button on the bottom.
- Use a 1/4 in Allen key in the bottom socket to turn the motor both ways.
- If accessible, twist the plate from above with a wooden spoon; remove debris with tongs only.
- Restore power and test. If it still hums, service is needed.
